BIM Technician / Designer
Key Responsibilities:
Drafting and Design:
- Create detailed drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Assist in the development of structural designs based on engineer or architect specifications.
- Generate accurate and clear technical drawings for construction projects.
Structural Analysis:
- Perform basic structural analysis using software tools to assess the stability and integrity of designs.
- Collaborate with engineers to analyze and interpret data related to structural elements.
Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive records of design changes, calculations, and project documentation.
- Ensure that all drawings and documents comply with relevant codes and standards.
Communication:
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other team members to understand project requirements.
- Communicate effectively to convey technical information and updates to the project team.
Quality Control:
- Review drawings and designs to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
- Assist in identifying and resolving potential issues during the design and construction phases.
Field Support:
- Conduct site visits to gather information, assess construction progress, and address any design-related issues.
- Collaborate with construction teams to ensure that structures are built according to approved plans.
What We’re Looking for:
- Revit Technologist holding BIM qualification.
- 3+ years’ experience working within a Structural Engineering environment.
- Possess strong technical and construction knowledge.
- Excellent working knowledge of Revit with experience in creating structural models.
- Full understanding and experience working with current Irish building and planning legislation is essential.
- Experience using Navisworks and leading clash detection from a structural perspective.
- Technical Skills: Structural Technician BIM Revit, AutoCAD, CADS RC, Civil 3D, General Arrangement, Navisworks.
