The Market Analyst will be responsible for generating actionable market intelligence across key energy segments — specifically HVDC cables, offshore wind, BESS, and hydrogen. The ideal candidate will monitor trends, identify strategic opportunities, support client engagement initiatives, and contribute to the development of business development strategies. This role requires a proactive, analytical individual with strong communication skills and a passion for clean energy technologies.

The Responsibilities
Market Intelligence & Analysis
- Conduct in-depth market research and competitor analysis within HVDC, offshore wind, BESS, electricity grid, and hydrogen sectors.
- Track and assess trends, policy changes, project developments, investment activity, and supply chain dynamics across UK, Europe, and global markets.
- Maintain and update databases of market activity, prospective projects, and client pipelines.
Client Outreach & Engagement Support
- Identify and qualify prospective clients, developers, and partners in the target sectors.
- Draft and send introductory emails to potential clients; follow up with phone calls or virtual meetings.
- Monitor and assess relevant industry events, conferences, and exhibitions; recommend and help coordinate company participation.
Sales & Strategic Reporting
- Collaborate with the Head of Business Development to prepare regular market briefings and sales enablement reports.
- Contribute insights to business development strategies and go-to-market approaches.
- Assist in preparation of client briefing packs, pitch materials, and tender intelligence.
The Requirements:
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Energy Studies, Economics, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a market research, business intelligence, or business development support role (ideally within the renewable energy or engineering sectors).
- Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies and project lifecycles, particularly HVDC cables, offshore wind, BESS, and hydrogen.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Proficient in MS Office and CRM/market intelligence tools (e.g., LinkedIn Sales Navigator, BNEF, Rystad, etc.).
Desirable
- Knowledge of key stakeholders in UK/EU energy markets.
- Ability to work across multiple time zones and cultures.
